Master Lock and American Lock Keying Options:
Most special keying options on padlocks incur a surcharge - please review product details and options when order - contact us with any clarification needs.
Keying options as described by Master Lock:
Keyed Different (KD): Each padlock has its own unique key. Most products are supplied keyed different unless specified otherwise.
Keyed Alike (KA): This provides "same key" convenience and eliminates the need for multiple keys where numerous padlocks are used. All padlocks in the set are keyed the same. Most Master Lock padlocks can be ordered keyed alike. Keyed Alike padlocks are listed with the "KA" suffix in the product part number.
Master Keyed (MK): In a master keyed system, the master key opens all locks in the system although each lock has its own unique key. Master keyed items are ideal for permitting supervisory or emergency access. Master keyed padlocks are listed with the "MK" suffix in the product part number.
When ordering master keyed products, keep in mind that groups of padlocks may be ordered keyed different or keyed alike and still be master keyed. Please contact us fore more clarification.

Keyed Different (KD): Each padlock has its own unique key. All products are made keyed different unless requested otherwise.
Keyed Alike (KA): Keyed alike is a term used to describe a set of padlocks which can be opened with the same key. Keyed alike offers convenience to customers who use numerous padlocks by eliminating multiple keys. Many domestically produced products are available keyed alike. (Padlocks and cylinders can also be keyed alike in sets or groups.)
Master Key (MK): In a master key system, one key operates all the master keyed padlocks or cylinders in one or more groups.
