Filex Lock Questions

At this time we do not have a source on any Filex lock kits, or components of the cabinet - they may be obsolete.
However, we have an older Filex cabinet in-house that we were able to install an F24/F28 style lock into. This procedure required the following two items:
An F24 style lock kit Sku 34250
and
The F24 adapter plate Sku 27065  (now included in above kit)

The following images show the above components installed in our file cabinet, and it works fine. There is a small piece of metal that we had to remove from the upper locking bar track on the file cabinet - please review the inside components of your file cabinet before attempting this procedure - There is no guarantee these parts will work in your cabinets.

How did you remove the piece of metal on the upper tracking rail bar? I have the same filing cabinet and am trying to put the same lock on it.

If I remember correctly (been a few years) we just used some tin snip cutters to cut each side - it is thin metal.
